Products:

OCTOPUS P PLUS SERIES

Base oils for blending of high quality automotive and industrial lubricants. They are severely solvent extracted and hydrofinished as a result of which discoloration even after a long time does not occur.

Good oxidation and colour stability, light coloured, minimum evaporation losses by heating, low aromatic content.

The Kinematic Viscosity range at 40°C is very wide starting with 30 mm²/s to 675 mm²/s (at 100°C range starts at 5.1 mm²/s to 39.3 mm²/s).

ETRO SERIES 3, 4, 6

PETRONAS’ superior quality group III base oil is marketed under the ETRO brand name. The combination of over 130 VI and the low noack makes ETRO one of the highest quality group III base oils in the market. Given that ETRO is produced exclusively from PETRONAS crude, both feedstock supply and product consistency are assured.

Description:

ETRO SERIES are very high quality Group III base oils manufactured from a proprietary wax isomerisation process and hydrofinishing to a colorless liquid. These base oils are highly isoparaffinic and exhibit high viscosity index values, as well as superior low temperature performance. Both have excellent viscosity-volatility relationship.

Aapplications:

ETRO SERIES are excellent choices for the formulation of high-performance engine oil, as well as compressor and hydraulic oil formulations.
ETRO production comprises the following processes:
- Vacuum distillation
- Hydrotreating
- Selective catalytic dewaxing
- Hydrofinishing

The Kinematic Viscosity range at 100°C is between 2,3-6,5 mm²/s.

WOT SERIES

WHITE OIL TECHNICAL are transparent, odorless, colorless mineral oils. They exhibit a high degree of purity and excellent color stability and resistance to aging. These products comply with the purity standards of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA 178 3620 b) and they are produced from the paraffinic based lubricants.

WOT Series are used in chemistry in the production of foam cutting chemical substances; in production of leather chemicals; polish, ink and the articles of paints, as a base oil in industrial lubricants production.

PORCUS SERIES

Porcus Series are synthetic hydrocarbon polymers made by polymerization of C4 olefins (primarily isobutene) and are available in a wide range of viscosities.

Characteristics:

• Permanently non-drying
• Colourless (water white) and non-staining
• Soluble in a wide range of organic solvents
• Compatible with a wide range of organic materials
• Completely hydrophobic
• Tacky
• Practically non-toxic and non-phytotoxic
• Stable to light and air under ambient conditions
• Very low moisture transmission rates
• Low to negligible evaporation loss at ambient temperature

Applications:

• PORCUS SERIES polybutenes are non-conductive and hydrophobic, and thus are ideally suited for a variety of electrical insulation applications such as impregnant for Dielectrics, Cable Oils, Cable Gels and Potting Compounds and Cable Insulation. Their chemical structure and low chloride content, as well as low levels of impurities, make them highly resistant to oxidation and gas evolution under electrical stress.

Coatings: PORCUS SERIES polybutenes are used as a component in many special purpose paints and coatings. Their advantages in such applications include water resistance, low colour, plasticization of the final film, excellent adhesion and ability to replace volatile solvents.
